OELC Installed Senior Pastor

The OELC installed its newly called pastor, the Rev. Kenassa T. Shobor on March 1, 2015, by the Rev. Phil Hirsch, Director of Evangelical Missions and Assistant to the Bishop of the DC Metro ELCA Synod.

The installation ceremony was a formal culmination of the call process that started a year ago and came to a glorious end on January 18, 2015 when members of the congregation in the presence of Bishop Graham unanimously voted to call Pastor Kenassa as a Senior Pastor of the church.

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of people from around the DC Metro area and from distant places as far as California, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, and Baltimore to name a few. The Oromo Evangelical Lutheran Church would like to thank all those who joined us on this glorious celebration despite the inclement weather that hit the area from the very morning. It was a big surprise and we sincerely thank you and may God bless you all.

We ask all friends of the OELC to congratulate Pastor Kenassa and wish him success as a Pastor of this congregation. We also request all of our friends to keep our Pastor and members of this congregation in your prayers.

Thank you and enjoy some of the pictures from the ceremony on our website gallery and on Facebook.
